Abstract

The pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PPCPs) which may not be made full use in human body will be released into urban sewage through urine, feces, and bathing. The PPCPs in water environment are becoming an emergent environmental issue that calls people's more attention.Therefore, the PPCPs in urban sewage and the characteristics and mechanism of their removal from wastewater treatment plant are summarized, and the necessity to make relevant research in China is proposed.
