Description

To maintain Hong Kong's position as a dynamic global hub and a regional economic leader, we need to stay competitive, adaptable and innovative. In particular, our young people need to be well-prepared for the evolving world of the 21st-century and ready to connect and grow our communities. Our ability to grasp the opportunities and overcome the challenges presented by rapid changes in innovation and technology will be critical in shaping our future society. Some of the essential tools for success in today's world and for the coming future are easy to identify. Certainly, they include having professional knowledge, including in STEM subjects, as well as a strong set of skills and a positive attitude. Agility, innovation, teamwork, perseverance and leadership have become critical competencies not only for business but also for our everyday lives. These attributes are also the skills for entrepreneurship. To better future-proof our society, we need to collaborate across sectors to provide a rich variety of learning opportunities at all levels across our society. Let's work together for success by strengthening the teaching and learning of skills for entrepreneurship in our education system including the vocational and professional education and training (VPET) sector, and in our corporate training and community outreach programmes.
