Description

Work-based training is studied via qualitative interviews with 25 students in four vocational training programs, who were met first in school, then in the workplace. Following a description of the internship periods undergone by the students, the process of work-based training is analyzed. The progression of internships and learnings, as described, demonstrates that the activities assigned to the students have enabled them to increase their knowledge and begin their integration into the labor market. The study also examines the students’ development at the hands of their mentor and other employees, highlighting the difficulties they encounter.
